What the data indicates about Mildura
To clarify the circumstances of the above-mentioned group, further information has been sought from the
Australian Bureau of Statistics. The Bureau indicated that a high cost would be incurred for limited benefit.
Therefore, additional information has been obtained from the Department of Immigration, Multicultural and
Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA) about new arrivals from abroad moving to Mildura between 1st January 2000
and 1st January 2005 (Settlement Reports).
According to DIMIA, during the specified period the countries of birth of new settlers moving to the
Mildura Local Government Area were as follows:
